Britni Wilkens, IIDA, has been recognized as part of the 2022 Lubbock Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals Top 20 Under 40. This award recognizes outstanding professionals under the age of 40 who exemplify career leadership and participate in making Lubbock a better place to live and work. Congratulations to all included in this year's awards! The 2022 recipients were honored at the awards gala on January 19. Britni and Austin Moore, AIA, were both recipients representing Parkhill in the Top 20 Under 40.

"Britni is most recognized for her ability to build strong client relationships and for maintaining those relationships through repeat business," said Interiors Studio Leader Liz Morgan, IIDA. "She has a remarkable strength of responsibility and takes great personal ownership in all she does. You can always count on her to do what she says she will do and to do it with a spirit of excellence."

With 17 years of experience in a variety interiors projects, Britni is well-recognized as an outstanding interior designer and for her dedication to training and developing interior design staff. She has managed and been a contributor to projects for colleges/universities, corporate offices, retirement communities, healthcare facilities, laboratories, financial institutions, churches, and K-12 schools in West Texas, the Texas Panhandle, and worldwide. Many of these projects have been award-winning.

Britni has been involved in projects including:

"She does her work well, but she also does it with heart," Liz said. "That is a skill that cannot be taught and one that continues to set her apart in the work she does and with our clients. Her willingness to be vulnerable and share in our studio meetings sets a great precedent and tone for others to contribute honestly and earnestly."

Britni is also highly involved in helping organizations connect with Parkhill’s annual Building Community Investment Grants and Pro-Bono opportunities. Over the last five years, Britni has been involved with One Voice Home, has volunteered for fundraising events, and has helped them connect with pro-bono and grant opportunities to further their mission. She has a similar relationship with Texas Boys and Girls Ranch and has worked with the organization on their current Entrance Beautification Project. Lubbock ISD Miller Elementary School PTA has been another BCI recipient through its Healthy Minds initiative. With this grant, they were able to provide sensory boxes for 32 classrooms to promote the development of healthy minds.

Britni and Parkhill Architect Ryan Wilkens, AIA, have been married for 14 years and have two children. They attend First Baptist Church, where Britni has served in the Apples of Gold women’s ministry for over a decade. She serves as the Miller Elementary PTA President and has a passion for enriching the relationships between parents/guardians, students, teachers, and administrators. Britni also serves LISD in various other roles through the LISD Bond Oversight Committee and the LISD CTE Interior Design Advisory Committee. She also has continued involvement with the interior design program at her alma mater, Texas Tech University.

"She has a heart for service," Liz said, "and is always finding ways to make inspired contributions to the communities she touches."
