The Parkhill Interior Design team recently received top recognition in two separate categories at the IIDA Texas Oklahoma Chapter Design Excellence Awards held in Austin, Texas. The team was in attendance to accept the Pinnacle Award in the Large Firm Category, the chapter’s highest recognition, as well as the Best in City Center Award for West Texas for their design of the Lubbock Police Department Headquarters.
A Pinnacle of Excellence
The Pinnacle Award is the highest achievement for design firms within the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) Texas Oklahoma Chapter. This honor celebrates firms that exemplify the highest aspirations of the interior design profession through community impact, association involvement, and design innovation.
Parkhill was recognized for its continuous support and sponsorship at the chapter level, as well as its members' active service on multiple councils. Competing against firms from across Texas and Oklahoma, this award solidifies Parkhill’s status as a leader in the interior design field.
“Being nominated for this award is an incredible honor, and to be selected as the recipient among other outstanding firms across Texas and Oklahoma is a true privilege,” said Liz Morgan, IIDA, Parkhill’s Group Lead of the Interiors team. "We have worked so hard to showcase the talents of West Texas, as well as Parkhill Interiors companywide, and it is a great distinction to share this award with our entire Interiors team."
A Community Cornerstone in Lubbock
In addition to the Pinnacle Award, Parkhill’s work on the Lubbock Police Department Headquarters earned the Best in City Center West Texas Award, which honors interior design projects that transform downtown or urban spaces.
The Lubbock Police Department Headquarters is an example of thoughtful design with a dual focus: serving the public and supporting the well-being of law enforcement personnel. The building offers a centralized, efficient space for public interaction while providing officers with areas to work and decompress. The design blends raw, unrefined materials with soft, organic textures, reflecting the police force's adaptability and multidimensional role. Its aesthetic also aligns with surrounding downtown architecture, reinforcing its role as a cornerstone of the community.
A Celebration of Design Excellence
Among 124 entries submitted across Texas and Oklahoma, Parkhill stood out as a trailblazer in interior design, garnering recognition for its creative vision, impactful service, and dedication to excellence. These awards highlight not only the Interior Design team’s talent but also their commitment to shaping spaces that inspire connection, innovation, and community pride.
