Keller Sports Park Renovation
Keller Sports Park already had the ingredients of a major recreation destination—nearly 200 acres and fields serving baseball, softball, soccer, lacrosse and other sports. But drainage channels and other physical divisions made the complex feel more like separate pieces than one park. Parkhill’s renovation reorganizes and adds fields to better serve athletic associations while weaving the site together through plazas, promenades and pedestrian corridors. Existing parking remains in place where possible, helping focus resources on improvements that strengthen the overall park experience.

A Park Within the Park
Rather than simply moving from the parking lot to the playing field, visitors encounter a series of connected gathering spaces. Plazas and promenades link fields and create a “park within a park,” giving athletes, families and spectators places to meet, move and spend time between games.
Letting the Railroad Lead the Design
The park’s location beside the railroad provided a natural thread for unifying the complex. Drawing from Keller’s railroad heritage and its connection to the growth of early baseball, the design uses turn-of-the-century and industrial influences to give the park a distinctive sense of place.

Turning History Into an Experience
I-beam shade structures, rails embedded along promenades, memorable entry features and a depot-inspired focal point translate that history into physical details. Together, these elements make navigating the park feel like moving through one connected story rather than a collection of individual fields.
