Building Community is more than just a mission statement; it’s a way of life. Giving back helps those in need while bringing joy to those who give. Parkhill’s Building Community Investment (BCI) has given back more than $3 million in grants, pro bono services, employee match donations, and more to our communities.

Building Community Starts With a Home

At its core, Parkhill’s Building Community Investment is about people helping people—working together to build stronger communities where everyone can thrive. For more than two decades, Parkhill employees have contributed time, grants, and hands-on labor to Habitat for Humanity, helping deserving families build or improve the places they call home. 

Rebuilding Hope in Perryton, Texas

In June 2023, Perryton, TX, a town of 8,000 in the Texas Panhandle, faced the fury of an EF-3 tornado. Parkhill’s pro bono architecture and planning services aided in the immediate recovery and cast a vision for its future. Now, the community is all in to restore a once-thriving downtown.

Ending Food Insecurity in West Texas

The West Texas Food Bank (WTFB) is leading the fight to end food insecurity across 19 Texas counties — an area roughly the size of Maine. Since Parkhill’s involvement, the West Texas Food Bank has been able to increase food distribution from 2.8 million pounds of food per year to more than 14 million.

The Underserved Communities Foundation (UCF) has received a grant from Parkhill’s Building Community Investment to support its Sweet Beginnings Program, which assists families and young adults transitioning from homelessness to independent living.

The Yucca Learning Early Childhood Center is a nurturing and educational space dedicated to providing high-quality early childhood education in a supportive environment.

The Communities Foundation of West Texas (CFWTX) is dedicated to strengthening communities in West Texas through charitable giving, grants, and scholarships.

Walk a Mile in Her Shoes is an annual event that raises awareness about domestic violence, sexual assault, and gender-based violence. Hosted by the YMCA of El Paso, this initiative invites men to literally walk a mile in high heels to symbolize their commitment to standing against violence.

The West Texas Food Bank distributes millions of pounds of food each year to more than 15 counties in West Texas.

The Amarillo United Citizens Forum (AUCF) is a community-driven organization provides a space for civic engagement, education, and cultural enrichment, fostering leadership, advocacy, and community development.

Throughout the years, our Building Community Investment has helped more than 200 community organizations that are on the front lines of making the world a better place.
