Learning by Design Magazine Recognizes Parkway Elementary School

Learning by Design Magazine selected Monahans ISD Parkway Elementary School as an Outstanding Project for the 2025 Educational Facilities Design Awards! These annual awards recognize and promote excellence in educational facilities through design nationwide. They also highlight the importance of functional but also inspiring spaces to learn. A distinguished panel of architects and educational facility professionals reviews the merit of each submission. Parkway Elementary met many of the awards’ criteria, exhibiting design attributes and features that educational facilities everywhere can learn from and possibly implement in their designs.

Dream, discover, learn, create, play. These powerful words are showcased at the entrance of Parkway Elementary and promote a dedication to excellence in education. The design process was driven by community collaboration, and the result is a school that is conducive to the well-being and success of students and educators. The school approaches design with graphics that reflect school spirit, benefits of natural daylighting, and personalized learning strategies.
