Parkhill Projects Earn Stars of Distinction in Prestigious TASA/TASB Exhibit of School Architecture

Parkhill is proud to announce that two of its recent K-12 projects — Brownfield High School in Brownfield ISD and Coach Kenny Deel Stadium in Melissa ISD — have earned multiple Stars of Distinction in the 2025–26 TASA/TASB Exhibit of School Architecture. The recognition places these projects among 43 exceptional educational facilities across Texas selected for this year’s exhibit.
The Exhibit of School Architecture, presented by the Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA) and the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB), honors newly constructed and renovated public education facilities that exemplify excellence in six key areas: design, value, wellness, community, planning, and transformation. A 12-member jury composed of school administrators, board members, and members of the Association for Learning Environments (A4LE) Southern Region awarded 106 Stars of Distinction across all projects.
Brownfield High School: A Community Vision Realized
Five Stars Earned: Design, Value, Community, Planning, Transformation
Built as a result of a successful 2019 bond and the vision of the community, the new Brownfield High School is a testament to nearly two decades of partnership between Parkhill and Brownfield ISD. The campus reflects the community’s educational aspirations and desire to transform the community’s identity. With a strong emphasis on STEM, fine arts, and flexible learning environments, the design reimagines what a modern high school can be. The design overall supports career and college readiness, featuring a career and technical education (CTE) wing. This feature includes industry-level labs and classrooms supporting programs such as patient care, automotive tech, welding, and drone piloting. A new competition gym encourages belonging, motivation, and wellness for the school’s talented student athletes. Brownfield High School is a place where traditional learning meets innovation, driving a cultural transformation in how students learn, achieve, and envision their futures.
This project is elevated to receive a Caudill Award, the highest honor of the Exhibit of School Architecture competition. Those selected will be announced at the Midwinter Conference in January.
Coach Kenny Deel Stadium: Where Athletics Meet Innovation
Three Stars Earned: Design, Value, Wellness
In fast-growing Melissa ISD, the new Coach Kenny Deel Stadium serves as more than a sports venue — it’s a hub for academic and community engagement. The visionary design ensures the stadium seamlessly integrates with the high school campus and the Melissa Championship Center also designed by Parkhill. The stadium places a strong emphasis on student wellness, recognizing a variety of students and sports programs, including football, soccer, cheer, band, and flag corps. The facility also includes hands-on learning spaces for student broadcasting, coaching, and media production — bridging co-curricular activities with real-world career exploration.
