Parkhill Sustainability Leaders Honored With Top Recognition for Green Building Professionals

Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI), the premier organization for recognizing excellence in green business industry performance and practice worldwide, has announced the 2025 class of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Fellows. Parkhill Senior Planner Julio Carrillo and Sustainability Lead Umesh Atreare are among the 23 individuals from around the globe being honored for their mastery of LEED — the world’s most widely used green building rating system — and their exceptional work in advancing green building practices. Having two individuals within the same firm in this class is a rare occurrence. We are so proud of Juio and Umesh and their valued contributions to Parkhill!
The LEED Fellow distinction is awarded to individuals who have demonstrated professional-level technical knowledge and a history of exemplary leadership, commitment, and service over a minimum of 10 years as a LEED professional. Of the over 200,000 LEED credential holders worldwide, fewer than 400 professionals have the special recognition of LEED Fellow. This year’s class includes professionals in the built environment representing 10 countries and territories from Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, and North America.
“We’re incredibly proud of Julio Carrillo and Umesh Atre for being named 2025 LEED Fellows,” said Parkhill’s Executive Vice President of Architecture Dan Hart, FAIA, PE. “This recognition from GBCI affirms their exceptional leadership and long-standing commitment to advancing green building practices around the world. Julio and Umesh exemplify Parkhill’s mission to build communities and create environments that enrich lives through thoughtful, responsible design. Their achievement inspires all of us at Parkhill to continue pushing the boundaries of innovation and sustainability in the built environment.”
