Across Parkhill’s service regions, food insecurity remains above the national average, with senior citizens and children being affected the most. Food banks, operating on the front lines of this fight, are essential resources for families in underserved areas — providing basic needs that restore hope. However, they are increasingly overwhelmed with rising costs and growing demand.

In honor of GivingTuesday, Parkhill is supporting local food banks through its Building Community Investment. These organizations include: Food Bank of West Central Texas in Abilene, Texas; Storehouse West; in Albuquerque, New Mexico; High Plains Food Bank  in Amarillo, Texas; Central Texas Food Bank  in Austin, Texas; El Pasoans Fighting Hunger  in El Paso, Texas; Frisco Family Services in Frisco, Texas; First Street Mission in Fort Worth, Texas; South Plains Food Bank in Lubbock, Texas; West Texas Food Bank in Midland, Texas; Mission Norman in Norman, Oklahoma; Project 66 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Eastern Oklahoman Food Bank  in Tulsa, Oklahoma; and The Hope Center in Woodward, Oklahoma.

In addition to donations, many Parkhill employees also donate their time to help others. Recently, team members from Parkhill’s Fort Worth office prepared dinner for the families staying at the Ronald McDonald House and volunteered at the Tarrant Area Food Bank. The Frisco team partnered with Feed My Starving Children DFW, helping pack 65 boxes of food, which adds to more than 14,000 meals and enough to feed 38 children every day for a full year.

When basic needs are met, people are far more likely to focus on empowering themselves through education, employment, and community involvement. Parkhill employees are Giving Back with Gratitude, creating a positive impact and helping build more food-secure communities.
