By agreeing to pay 2 percent more in taxes, they laid the foundation for what is now Uptown Dallas—one of the most vibrant, upscale districts where young professionals live, work, shop, and play. Their commitment sparked a transformation, turning a neglected neighborhood into a symbol of revitalization and success.
A Premier Opportunity in the Heart of Uptown
In 2014, City Bank seized the chance to secure a prime location at 2525 McKinnon Street, directly across from the iconic Crescent Hotel. The bank partnered with PSC to design an upscale branch that reflects its premier services. The space includes a luxurious boardroom, a modern teller line, private offices, and inviting lounge areas, all carefully crafted to embody sophistication and function.
Art and Design: Elevating the Experience
.City Bank commissioned artist Rebekah D. Campbell to create nine custom works, including a stunning abstract windmill blade-inspired feature at the teller line. Rich wood floors, opulent carpet tiles, and custom furniture upholsteries—featuring velvets, leather, and pony hides—add layers of elegance and character to the space.
A Beacon of Style and Innovation
Crowning the design, a light feature of 11 luminous crystal pendants creates a dazzling focal point visible from Uptown’s bustling streets. The new City Bank branch is more than a banking center—it’s a testament to vision, resilience, and the power of thoughtful design to inspire and empower communities.
