Doubletree Ranch Park

Where History Shapes Design and Every Space Invites People to Gather, Explore and Play

For more than 60 years, Doubletree Ranch has welcomed visitors to Highland Village with its signature pine trees, rolling landscape and memorable bend in the road. Rather than replacing that legacy, the design for Doubletree Ranch Community Park builds upon it. Parkhill transformed the site into a destination where the ranch’s history and natural character shape every experience—from preserved trees and connected trails to gathering spaces inspired by the property’s agricultural roots. The result is a sustainable, multi-use park that honors the past while creating a vibrant place for recreation, celebrations and everyday community life.

Designed Around the Land’s Story

The park blends play, education and entertainment into one connected experience. Walking and biking trails, sports fields, playgrounds, botanical areas, picnic spaces and an amphitheater create opportunities for everything from tournaments and concerts to weddings and quiet afternoons outdoors.

Comfort Inspired by Texas Traditions

Design decisions respond to the Texas climate while reinforcing the ranch character. Preserved shade trees, a flexible pavilion, a naturally ventilated barn and rainwater collection that feeds a butterfly garden provide comfort, sustainability and spaces that adapt to gatherings both large and small.

A Ranch Landscape Brought to Life

The splash pad follows the story of a Texas stream instead of relying on novelty features, while lighting, architecture and site details echo the ranch’s heritage. Together, these elements make Doubletree Ranch Community Park both a distinctive destination and the crown jewel of Highland Village’s park system.
