Ector County ISD Permian High School Addition and Renovation

A Campus Designed to Grow With Its Students

To support a growing student population and enhance campus life, Ector County ISD partnered with Parkhill on a multi-phase expansion and renovation of Permian High School. The two-story academic wing is modeled after a collegiate environment, featuring instructor “professional centers” and collaboration zones for up to 60 students per level. Flexible classrooms and labs include operable partitions to allow reconfiguration based on class size or subject. Academic den centers, zoned for 400–500 students, create smaller learning communities with direct access to administrative support.

Strengthening Programs Through Smart Additions

New athletic additions include a practice gymnasium supporting PE, basketball, volleyball, and dance, with capacity for assemblies or spectators. Expanded locker rooms now serve varsity, junior varsity, and freshman teams, along with upgraded athletic offices, laundry, storage, and a film room. The new band hall supports 300 musicians with acoustically enhanced rehearsal space, instrument storage, and office areas. The tennis complex was also upgraded with eight new courts and spectator seating.

Culinary, Performance, and Dining Upgrades

Phase III included a new commercial kitchen and six modern serving lines designed to feed over 3,000 students daily. The expanded dining hall now includes a cybercafé and bistro, with natural light pouring in from reopened skylights. A new 4,300-square-foot choir room, located near the auditorium, supports practice, performance, and fine arts growth.
