Redesigning Taxiways and Ramps to Support El Paso’s Growing Aviation Needs

Inventive Solutions
Parkhill, collaborating closely with EPIA and the FBO, explored multiple geometric alternatives to design a layout that supports future operations. The project also included taxiway lighting, signage installation, and extensive drainage improvements to ensure the airfield’s long-term functionality.
Building for the Future
One of the biggest challenges was coordinating the relocation of FAA and airport communication infrastructure. Parkhill led the effort, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations. Their detailed safety and phasing plan enabled construction near active airfield pavements without compromising safety. The result? A more efficient, future-ready airport that meets the evolving needs of El Paso’s aviation industry.
