Hereford Ethanol Grants
The County Road 8 (CR 8) Improvements and Re-Alignment Project is more than a road—it’s a gateway to progress, safety, and economic growth. Parkhill was chosen to transform a skewed, hazardous intersection into a well-aligned roadway designed to handle industrial traffic and future expansion. With collaboration between the US Department of Commerce, Deaf Smith County, and Panda Hereford Ethanol, this 6,000-foot roadway improvement symbolizes the power of innovation meeting community need.

Innovating Under Pressure: Seamless Solutions
Faced with a critical railroad crossing along Burlington Northern Santa Fe’s (BNSF) two main lines, Parkhill navigated complex challenges. With 115 trains passing daily, closing the railway wasn’t an option. Instead, construction proceeded “under traffic,” requiring meticulous phasing and traffic control. Coordination with utility providers and adhering to TxDOT standards ensured the project met strict safety and functionality requirements while staying on track for completion.
Empowering Growth with Sustainable Engineering
Parkhill’s design of 11,000 feet of double-loop rail track maximized efficiency, allowing trains to unload without stopping. By incorporating pressure-activated grease certs on tight curves, long-term maintenance costs were minimized. The CR 8 project is a testament to the impact of purposeful engineering—bridging safety, sustainability, and accessibility to serve the community for decades to come.
