Hereford New Civic Center
The newly constructed Hereford Civic Center, located adjacent to the Amarillo College Hereford Campus, is a 20,000-square-foot multipurpose event facility designed to serve the diverse needs of the community. From intimate family gatherings to large-scale conventions of over 1,000 people, the center offers a variety of spaces including a banquet hall, ballroom, conference rooms, and an outdoor event courtyard.
Versatile Spaces for Every Occasion
The design reflects Hereford’s agricultural heritage, with masonry finishes, grey metal paneling, and exposed steel used to create a modern yet timeless aesthetic. A central spine with high ceilings and exposed trusses separates service areas from event spaces, while moveable partitions allow the banquet hall to adapt to different occasions. The smaller ballroom, with its industrial feel, offers flexibility for informal events.
A Seamless Indoor-Outdoor Experience
Equipped with teleconferencing technology, the center’s two conference rooms cater to both formal and collaborative meetings. The outdoor courtyard, complete with a fireplace and AV equipment, serves as an extension of the indoor event spaces or as a stand-alone venue.
Celebrating an Agricultural Legacy
The site’s thoughtful landscaping, including drainage swales that double as aesthetic features, ensures both functionality and beauty. Completed in February 2021, the Hereford Civic Center opens in Spring 2021, ready to become a key venue for community and regional events.
