Lubbock-Cooper ISD, Lubbock-Cooper High School CTE Facility

A Collaborative Journey Creates Vision for Career and Technical Education

Lubbock Cooper ISD, partnering with Parkhill, embarked on a collaborative journey to modernize its career and technical education facilities. Students, educators, and local businesses came together to brainstorm and shape a facility that would equip students with real-world skills. Through live online exercises, students even selected building materials, and virtual reality tours gave them a first-hand look at their future classrooms.

Hands-on Learning Takes Center Stage

The new facility emphasizes hands-on learning, with spaces designed to meet a variety of career paths. A welding shop with a professional paint booth and CNC machine, a fashion lab with a storefront, and windows with acoustic glazing that offer views into lab areas—all foster collaboration and skill-building.

Building Beyond the Classroom

Overcoming site challenges was crucial to success. Parkhill worked closely with the CMAR to relocate a road and major utilities, ensuring the additions to the existing structure seamlessly integrated with the original building. The result is a modern, dynamic space that prepares students for the future.
