North Lamar ISD Elementary School
The completed North Lamar ISD Intermediate School spans 79,211 square feet and serves up to 700 students. Developed with direct input from educators and administrators, the design moves beyond traditional layouts to create a dynamic, student-centered experience. Standout features include the “Discovery Center,” an immersive, projection-based environment where students explore everything from the ocean floor to outer space, and a playful social stair with an integrated slide—both praised by district leadership for their impact on student engagement.
Flexible Academic Neighborhoods
The school includes four academic “neighborhoods,” each with eight classrooms, collaboration hubs, intervention rooms, and shared support spaces. These flexible areas support various teaching styles and learning needs. Dedicated rooms for art, music, and special education are seamlessly integrated, ensuring inclusivity and access for all students.
A Safe and Student-Focused Campus Core
At the heart of the school is a secure, centralized core housing the administrative offices, library, multi-purpose cafeteria/assembly space, and a gymnasium that doubles as a storm shelter. The site design features separate parent and bus drop-off zones, outdoor learning spaces, and age-appropriate playgrounds. Safety is embedded throughout, with secured access points, surveillance systems, and electronic locks.
