Ransom Canyon Wastewater Treatment Plant
Tucked into the rugged beauty of Ransom Canyon, this new wastewater treatment facility is a story of engineering ingenuity meeting community need. As the town grew, so did the demand on its aging treatment system. But the canyon’s unique geography and poor soil conditions made traditional construction approaches difficult. Parkhill responded with a customized solution built on resilience.

Compact Design, Lasting Impact
To stabilize the site, over 100 rammed-aggregate piers were driven 30 feet into the earth, forming a solid foundation for the new facility. The team selected a Sequencing Batch Reactor (SBR) system, which delivers high-efficiency treatment within a compact footprint — ideal for the tight site constraints. Two massive concrete basins were cast in a single day, requiring two pump trucks and 40 separate deliveries, an effort rarely seen in towns of this size.
Big Impact in a Small Footprint
Parkhill also repurposed portions of the existing infrastructure, reducing costs and environmental impact. The firm provided civil, structural, electrical, and instrumentation engineering, along with full construction phase services.

Engineering That Protects and Preserves
But beyond pipes and pumps, the project delivers peace of mind. It protects water quality, safeguards public health, and strengthens Ransom Canyon’s ability to grow while preserving what makes it special. It’s not just infrastructure—it’s a long-term investment in the life of the community.
