Vicenza High School
Parkhill led the architectural and engineering design for the new Vicenza High School in Italy, overcoming significant challenges to deliver a future-focused facility. Partnering with Alberto Izzo & Partners of Naples, the project adhered to both U.S. Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) 21st Century specifications and LEED® sustainability standards.

Overcoming Unique Challenges
With high seismic conditions, poor soil quality, and dual-language construction documents, Parkhill navigated complex requirements from multiple stakeholders, including U.S. and Italian authorities. The firm’s comprehensive planning included seismic safety measures, radon venting, and a supported foundation, ensuring the school’s longevity and safety.
A Global Partnership
The new Vicenza High School exemplifies Parkhill’s ability to unite global expertise, cultural collaboration, and cutting-edge design in the creation of a modern learning environment that meets both educational and environmental goals.
