City of Grand Prairie: Fish Creek Linear Trail Expansion

The City of Grand Prairie is expanding the Fish Creek Linear Trail. This popular trail is part of the city’s largest trail system. On Tuesday, the city installed a bridge that is part of a trail extension project. The biggest challenge was to maneuver the 12-ton steel span around the trees in the heavily wooded area.
“You try to put most of these trails in scenic areas and in natural areas,” said Joe Bradley, PE, Project manager. ”When you’re around a creek, especially in Texas, you’re going to find trees. Trying to fit this in is a challenge. It definitely makes it a little more of an expense, but it makes the experience a lot better.”
