Abilene ISD's Dyess Elementary students are known as the "jets." In addition to Parkhill's design collaboration with the City of Abilene, Dyess Air Force Base, and Abilene ISD for the new Dyess Elementary School, Parkhill Landscape Architects Cary Dodson, RLA, and Ty Sisco, RLA, designed a Memorial Park for the school's mascot, an F-4D Phantom.

"Parkhill is now officially 'jet setters,'" said Parkhill Project Professional Chip Whitlock.

This particular jet is known as the last U.S. aircraft to down an enemy aircraft during the Vietnam conflict. The jet's new location will include monuments to Abilene ISD armed forces service members.
