This #ThrowbackThursday shows Cell IV at the City of Lubbock Caliche Canyon Landfill. The subtitle D liner (left photo) was installed in the mid-1990s and over the next 20-years was filled with municipal solid waste.
A final water-balance cover system (right photo) was installed in 2009. Together, the liner & final cover system provide environmental protection to the Ogallala Aquifer.
