The Grove at Frisco Commons Opens 30,000-Square-Foot Facility

FRISCO, Texas — Frisco’s senior population now has access to more activities than ever before.
The Grove at Frisco Commons officially opened its doors Jan. 29 on McKinney Road between Frisco Commons and Bi Centennial parks. The 30,000 square-foot facility is nearly twice the size of the city’s former Senior Center at Frisco Square, which closed in December.
“The finished product of exemplary indoor and outdoor spaces for the 50-plus community has far exceeded my expectation and has been worth the wait,” said Amy Deatherage, chair for the Frisco Parks and Recreation board, at the Jan. 29 grand opening event.
The new center caters to adults 50 years and older. It features billiards, table tennis, a self-serve coffee bar, an art studio, a medical screening consultation room, and an aerobic studio with a virtual instructor. The Grove also offers outdoor amenities, such as a covered patio with chairs and lawn games, pickleball and bocce ball courts, and a walking trail that connects to the city’s new community garden and Frisco Commons Park.
