Parkhill designed the 45-acre evaporation pond at Newman Power Station, which included the removal of the previous 10-mil thickness PVC liner to replace it with 2,113,170 SF of 60-mil high-density polyethylene leak detection liner. The project was constructed in two phases by dividing the 45-acre pond into two equal ponds separated by an 11-foot concrete wall. This allowed for one side of the pond to be taken off-line for maintenance purposes while keeping the other side in operation.
