Construction for the Department of Defense Education Activity's Vicenza High School continues! Parkhill is the prime architectural/engineering firm for this new school in Italy. Parkhill’s task from DoDEA was to design schools to meet forward-thinking learning objectives that combine Italian and American history, to be sustainable, and exhibit energy conservation. The site of the new high school, Villagio della Pace, meaning “Village of Peace,” is a gated housing community for US members of the 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team and their dependents.

Project Highlights:

-All concrete walls and roofs are complete except for the main Commons Cafetorium.

-Formwork for monument stairs in commons is in progress.

-The first pour of cast-in-place fluted columns is in progress in the Commons.

-A 15th Century Villa is a backdrop for the new artificial turf "American Football" field and track.
