Hope Lodge Lubbock, a sanctuary for cancer patients and their caregivers, has received a Building Community Investment (BCI) grant to replace 35 outdated TVs throughout the facility. The new televisions will be installed in the 32 guest rooms, day rooms, and common areas, improving the overall experience for those staying at the Lodge during treatment.
For more than a decade, Hope Lodge Lubbock, part of the American Cancer Society’s nationwide program, has provided free lodging and a supportive environment for individuals undergoing cancer treatment. More than just a place to stay, Hope Lodge offers a nurturing, homelike setting where guests can connect with others, share meals, and find a sense of community during a challenging time in their lives.
Since opening in 2010, Hope Lodge Lubbock has played a crucial role in helping patients access the care they need while reducing the financial burden of housing and travel. Located on the Texas Tech University campus near the Ronald McDonald House, the Lodge features 32 private guest rooms, gathering spaces, fully equipped kitchens, and free laundry facilities.
A Legacy of Community Support
The Building Community Investment (BCI) grant is just the latest contribution to enhancing the Hope Lodge experience. Previous BCI grants have funded the replacement of six washers and dryers and provided a soft ice machine with a filtration system, which is frequently used by guests and caregivers.
Hope Lodge Lubbock provides a comprehensive support system for its guests, including:
- Proximity to local cancer treatment centers
- Private guest rooms and bathrooms
- Fully equipped community kitchens for food storage and preparation
- Gathering areas and dining rooms for shared meals and activities
- Dedicated volunteers and staff who help create a warm, welcoming environment
Through partnerships, grants, and dedicated volunteers, Hope Lodge continues to provide a vital resource for those undergoing cancer treatment—offering not only a roof over their heads but a home filled with care and compassion.
Parkhill’s Building Community Investment (BCI) Initiative reflects its commitment to reinvesting in the communities it serves. Through grants, employee matching gifts, local office giving, and pro bono services, BCI supports organizations dedicated to making a lasting impact. Since its inception, the initiative has contributed more than $4 million to fund over 200 community projects, reinforcing Parkhill’s mission of Building Community through meaningful support and engagement.
