We’re excited to share that the Shoreline City Church project received the TEXO Distinguished Building Merit Award in the $10–$30M category—a testament to the power of collaboration and mission-driven design. Hill & Wilkinson, Parkhill, and a team of trusted trade partners used the Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) method to complete this church renovation. This project is more than a renovation, it’s the start of something big for a vibrant church, abundant ministry opportunities, and a growing community!
More Than a Renovation
The project transformed an existing 1980s church building into a new church home for Shoreline City Church. Some of the improvements include a worship center, café, children’s classrooms, and an indoor play area.
The renovation of the children’s education wing was quickly established as Shoreline City Church’s top priority by upgrading existing classrooms, providing a new indoor play area, and opening gathering spaces to convey that families are important to the congregation. A change in worship style set the stage for all-new audio, video, and lighting upgrades, paired with acoustical treatments to accommodate a robust worship experience.
Integrated Project Delivery
Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) is a collaborative approach to construction projects that brings together all key participants—designers, engineers, contractors, and trades—at the start of the design process. This method emphasizes shared risk and reward and focuses on efficiency, cost control, and timely delivery.
Through a close-knit team, daily check-ins, attention to detail, and informed planning, this project was completed nearly two months ahead of schedule.
Receiving the TEXO Distinguished Building Merit Award underscores the success of the IPD method, celebrates a beautiful facility for a thriving community, and embodies skill, commitment, and passion for construction. The Shoreline City Church is now poised to serve as a beacon of faith and fellowship, thanks to the shared vision and hard work of everyone involved.
