Parkhill Engineers Jon Braudt & Kole Glover joined the Texas Society of Professional Engineers Panhandle Chapter in Amarillo for the presentation of an endowed scholarship to students of the West Texas A&M School of Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematics. Braudt serves as the director of the Panhandle Chapter, and Glover is president-elect.

“This was a really unique opportunity for us,” said Matt Jackson, Ph.D., associate dean at WTAMU. “Really it is the first time that we have had alumni that have come back and taken the initiative to invest time, effort, and energy into raising funds for the next generation of students that we have coming up.”

Glover said he enjoyed spending time with students and encouraging them to pursue their futures in engineering.

“We got to interact with students and help feed the pipeline for our company so that we can continue to grow and thrive in this area,” he said, “and we can continue to serve our clients better in the future.”

Funds for this scholarship are raised through an annual golf tournament hosted by the Texas Society of Professional Engineers-Panhandle Chapter, American Society of Civil Engineers – High Plains Branch, and IEEE – Panhandle Section. The first tournament took place last year.

“My favorite experience from the golf tournament last year was getting to know the company representatives not only on a professional level but personally as well,” said Chloe Standridge, WTAMU senior. “They helped me in ways I didn’t think were even possible.”
